Brighter Future Girl Child Promotion project will seek to enhance and educate the community to adopt and implement the Children‟s Act Kenya Cap 586 Laws passed; complement the Government‟s policies, such as the National Plan of Action on the elimination of FGM (1999-2019). The Project will also support the government’s efforts on Free and Compulsory Primary Education as well as stimulate and support economic development for the women by training them on Entrepreneurship skills.
Project Goals
The goals of the project are to:
Improve social well being of the girls and women in Kuria Region by FY 2027.
Reduce prevalence of FGM and Early/Forced Marriages in Kuria by FY 2027.
Increase enrolment and retention of primary school girls in Kuria by FY 2027.
Enhance economic empowerment for women and girls by FY 2027.
Target Population
5,000 girls young women and elderly women as direct beneficiaries 1,000 boys, young men and adult men as indirect beneficiaries.
